I am a busy executive serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for OHS Companies (OHS) located in Old Lyme, Connecticut, and a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City. In addition, I am the Managing Director of Hackensack Sleep Center Partners, LLC in Northern New Jersey.
My career began in the early 90's in Marketing for a multi-million dollar medical device company. It was in 1997 that I was fortunate enough to begin working for OHS, a national orthopaedic and rehabilitation consulting company, focusing on the businesses of orthopedics and rehabilitation, specializing in the areas of physical therapy practices, sleep diagnostic testing facilities, and surgery centers.
In October of 2017, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. WHAT??? I couldn't believe what I was hearing ... Those words ROCKED MY WORLD! I thought I was doing everything right. I had no symptoms ... no family history. I was shocked and beyond afraid and had no idea what my future was going to be. After surgery I began my journey with chemotherapy and the tough, mental struggle that comes with a cancer diagnosis. It's very scary, but you do what's necessary to continue moving forward. I feel good and continue to fight the fight by exercising, meditating, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and drinking lots of water (especially during my treatments.) I continue to work on becoming healthier in all aspects of my life, both mentally and physically, to the best of my ability; and I have a tremendous amount of support! After much soul searching, I decided that I needed to stop fighting the process and counting the days and hours until my next treatment. Instead I decided to embrace it as my mission to start participating in my health and overall well-being. I can still be healthy — I can still feel better and have a more joyful life. So I began to stop living for my treatments, and to take those treatments as my way to live.
It is while working at OHS, among some very special people, that I was empowered to dive into the business of Health and Wellness prior to my cancer diagnosis. There was a time after I heard those awful words that I wanted to give up, but this experience impassioned me to continue with Health Coaching in order to help women live a happier, healthier, and longer life ... and to help them realize that they are worth taking care of, no matter what!
As a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I mentor women with a passion for being positive and active, to achieve their wellness goals in ALL aspects of their lives. I look forward to helping people become healthier and happier by addressing all the facets of health in addition to eating, such as relationships, exercise, career, and spirituality.
